Celebrating 40 Years: The JDC Brand Campaign
I designed and implemented Jr. Davis Construction’s 40th anniversary brand campaign, creating a companywide system that celebrated the milestone while reinforcing a unified brand presence across physical, digital, and internal touchpoints. The campaign built on JDC’s long-standing message, “Paving the Way Since 1985,” and expanded it into a broader anniversary identity that could be used consistently throughout the company.
I also developed and introduced the adaptation “Paving the Way to Your Career Since 1985,” extending the anniversary message into recruitment and employer branding efforts. This allowed the campaign to do more than celebrate the company’s history, it also connected the milestone to future talent, growth, and brand visibility.
Objective
The objective was to create a cohesive 40th anniversary campaign that could be used companywide across signage, communications, brand materials, and recruiting efforts. The goal was to build something recognizable, flexible, and meaningful, while honoring JDC’s legacy and strengthening visibility and consistency across every major touchpoint.
My Role
I led the design and implementation of the anniversary campaign, with ownership over how the milestone was translated into visual branding, messaging, and companywide application.
My responsibilities included:
-
Designing and implementing the 40th anniversary brand campaign
-
Extending the company’s existing message, “Paving the Way Since 1985,” into anniversary-focused applications
-
Creating the recruitment-focused adaptation, “Paving the Way to Your Career Since 1985”
-
Applying the campaign across companywide signage, office branding, email signatures, and other communications
-
Ensuring the anniversary identity was used consistently across physical and digital environments
-
Supporting the campaign’s rollout in a way that felt both celebratory and aligned with the existing JDC brand
Approach
My approach was to treat the 40th anniversary as a full brand campaign rather than a simple commemorative graphic. I focused on how the milestone could be integrated into the everyday visibility of the company so it would feel unified, recognizable, and active throughout the year.
That meant designing a campaign system that could live across multiple formats, including high visibility jobsite signs along major roadways, office signage, email signatures, and recruiting-related messaging. I also looked for ways to expand the core anniversary language so it could support both legacy storytelling and future brand goals, which led to the introduction of “Paving the Way to Your Career Since 1985.”
Execution
I created and rolled out the 40th anniversary campaign across a wide range of company touchpoints. This included incorporating the branding into jobsite signs placed along heavily traveled highway corridors, office signage, email signatures, and additional branded materials used throughout the company.
The campaign was designed to be visible in both public-facing and internal spaces, allowing the anniversary to become part of JDC’s day-to-day brand presence rather than a one time announcement. I also extended the campaign into employer branding by developing “Paving the Way to Your Career Since 1985,” which connected the anniversary message to recruitment and career-focused communications.
By designing the campaign for broad application, I helped turn the 40th anniversary into a recognizable and adaptable brand system used across the company.
Impact
The campaign created a cohesive anniversary identity that was implemented companywide and seen across real, visible touchpoints. It strengthened brand consistency, elevated the company’s milestone presence, and gave JDC a clear message that could carry across both internal and external communications.
By expanding the campaign into recruitment messaging as well, the work connected the company’s history to its future. It helped position the anniversary not only as a celebration of legacy, but also as part of a broader brand story about growth, visibility, and opportunity.
